Stephen King's "Under the Dome"

So, I picked out my latest book. Stephen King's "Under the Dome" which is exactly 1074 pages. Nothing like a little challenge to put one's reading muse in high gear. I've started reading this one the other night and it's already quite a ride. I'm currently on page 31 and it's already enthralling and completely engrossing. I think I'm going to enjoy this journey. Which me luck that this doesn't take me a month or two to finish!!!

Just finished reading Jodi Picoult's "Change of Heart." This book was good, not but not great. I love the style that Jodi Picoult writes, all the different characters written in the first person. Yet, I couldn't help but wonder if she got some the ideas from this book from other authors, i.e. Stephen King's "The Green Mile" and Grisham's "The Chamber." This story focuses on capital punishment and inmates producing miracles and redemption of sins. It's one of those stories that make you think about how you feel about the death penalty and religion and seperation of church and state.

The storyline was a good one, but not original, by any means. But if you like courthouse dramas and stories where there are tough choices that a mother has to make in order to save their child, then this is definitly the story for you. It's a very heartfelt story, but definity not earth shattering or mind blowing.

Now off to read a new book.......hmmmmm which one should I pick.......

My Newest Book "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult

Started a new book over the weekend called "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult. I really enjoy her style of writing. I love that each chapter is about a diffent character told in the first person, you really get a feel for how each individual feels and you get to see their point of view regarding such a sensitive subject. So far, I feel this is going to be a very interesting book but it has a sort of Green Mile (Stephen King) feel about it along with Picoult's other book "My Sister's Keeper." I will keep at it because it is an interesting story and topic and since it seems to be a fairly fast read, I will be able to get through it fairly quickly.

My main list of books to-be-read.

This is my list of books to-be-read. I love reading and I just finished Julie and Julia by Julie Powell. A decent little book. I would definitely read her next book, which I don't actually own yet, but would love to start a new one in the meantime. Anyone have an idea of where I should start??? I hate this part, choosing my next victim. I have such a huge list, it's hard to begin. Any feedback would be grateful! Thanks so much.
